UNDER 8s Kick Off 11am
Saturday 31st see the Hawcoat Storm Under 8s take to the pitch for their inaugural game against Ulverston.
With a mixture of experience and novice enthusiasm it promises to be a treat against an Ulverston side who have been improving over the last two seasons.
Lining up for The Storm we have Jake C, Archie C and Lewis B.
These three seasoned campaigners will be looking to add some spice to the game as they use their past experience to compliment the enthusiasm of the newer players.
Harvey C will provide some stability at Right Centre and although small in stature he will prove to be a keystone in defence.
William W, Kian G, Sam W, Lewis U, and Marcus P will all be having their first taste of competitive rugby league but the signs from the last month’s hard work at training are encouraging as we approach the season proper.
Pitch conditions should be to the team’s liking with heavy rain promised in the early part of the week and this should prove a stern test not only for the new kits but for their Mum’s washing machines as well.
Everyone at the club is looking forward to the kid’s first run out as a team and even though the result may be academic, this culmination of everyone’s efforts is sure to make it a day to remember.
UNDER 10s Kick Off 11:45am
Again we have a smattering of experience mixed with newcomer enthusiasm in the 10s who will face a Roose Pioneers team at Hawcoat Park.
What is a given in this mix is the feeling of a team unit.
The guys have pulled together over the last few weeks and what they lack in game knowledge they certainly make up for in spirit and cooperation.
The blistering pace and pin point passing of Matthew B can only compliment the whippet like speed of William M.
The raw power of Jacob M will sit beautifully next to that of Austin M and Charlie F.
Harvey P’s game brain will ensure Oliver J and the other big players James P, Rory A and Jonah K will see enough ball to make an impact on the Roose defence.
Lewis B has (been) volunteered to step up an age group and provide the much needed cover for his older team mates when required.
We may not see the passing skills I have mentioned due to the conditions but we are in for a cracking game of rugby!
