Hawcoat Storm - Est: 2008

There's a Storm Brewing!!

Pre Match Review - 15th May 2009

Friday sees us play our first home game in what seems to be ages. Millom are a great bunch and are very keen to take us up on the offer of a BBQ so it should make for quite an evening. The 8s look to build on some great performances and I hope that the newly found confidence to pass the ball as we witnessed against Roose will continue. It brings on the team's confidence, opens up more attacking options and certainly gives an extra bit of spice for the spectators. The 10s are hunting their next scalp and after twice going close against two very good teams on Sunday they are building a platform for a big win somewhere along the way. Millom produce very big, very fast and very organised little rugby players so it will be LEGS, LEGS and MORE LEGS and moving off the line as a team if we are to keep them at bay in both age groups.

The games will be played simultaneously so we'll probably have the parents standing with their backs to each other for half an hour or so. I propose to have two coned pitches and no posts (it makes for a quick getaway) and straight up to the tennis hut after the games. Please take this opportunity to enjoy the social side of our fantastic game and to join the kids to celebrate what have been fantastic achievements so far. Tickets for the Race Night (6th June) will also be on sale at the BBQ so please stump up the cash on Friday if you can, £5 adult, £3 child. This also promises to be a great event and the more attending will only help the atmosphere so please feel free to invite family and friends along.

I now desperately need numbers for the Wigan trip on Friday 10th July. I have written to Holy Family and Dane Ghyll to make them aware of the situation so we now need numbers to allow us to book coaches and work out prices.

Cheers
Mark
