This Sunday will be the tester to demonstrate how far we've come since the launch event in January.
The weather forecast is good so we can't use that as an excuse.
The banter between the boys and girls is great so we can't use that as an excuse and there are glimmers of individual talent showing through which can only be a good thing.
What we can do to help ourselves is to move off the line together and thwart any would be attackers as a team.
Ulverston have some big boys in their squad and physics dictates that if we go high individually they'll run right through us.
We can also play with a little more structure now.
The teams are aware that we have 6 chances to score as long as we keep possession.
The first, second and even third runs need to be nothing fancy and should build the platform for some passing attack in runs 4 to 6 (or a kick in the case of the 10s).
Sunday is ultimately about a brave team effort for both the 8s and the 10s and as the season has now started (after last week's stutter) we can knuckle down and see the results of the hours the kids have put in since Christmas.
We're entering a nice part of the season now where every week it becomes lighter at training and every week it becomes warmer on Sunday morning.
I must thank you all again for bringing your kids to training regardless of the horrendous weather we've had over the close season. The fruits of their labour will be evident on Sunday.
