Post Match Review - 5th April 2009

UNDER 10s v WALNEY

WON 20 - 18

Remember when I said it would come if we carried on as we were? The no pressure and a little structure approach paid off with some champagne rugby from the 10s earning them their first win of the season at 20 - 18. As a team unit each and every member gave a display that is almost unrecognisable from the opening tonking against Roose. We are uniformally improving across the park and the "tweaks" we now have to make as coaches are made all the easier with the boys responding and understanding why we do the things we do. It's hard to isolate an individual from a true team performance but special mentions must go the the following for the following;

AUSTIN AND MATTHEW FOR THE KICK AND CATCH THAT GAVE MATTY HIS TRY.

RORY FOR HIS INDIVIDUAL RUN DOWN THE LEFT HAND SIDE.

JACOB FOR HIS DEFENSIVE DISPLAY AT MARKER, SNUFFING OUT A COMPLETE SET OF 6 ON HIS OWN.

SINGO FOR SMILING THROUGH HIS DEBUT.

CHARLIE FOR HIS CONSTANT DETERMINED RUNS.

JONAH FOR A MASSIVELY IMPROVED DEFENSIVE DISPLAY.

OLLY FOR DOING HIS RED BOOTS JUSTICE WITH SOME STRONG DETERMINED RUNNING.

WILLIAM FOR HIS JINKING RUNS.

EVERYONE ELSE FOR A COMPLETE DISPLAY OF UNSELFISH TEAM RUGBY.

UNDER 8s v WALNEY

WON 12 - 8

Two very evenly matched sides took the the pitch following the 10s and what followed was superb entertainment for 30 (ish because I forgot to start my watch for the first half!) Where we ran with aggression they matched us. Where we moved off the line and tackled very very well, they did too. Two tries for Jake and one from Lewis saw us pip them in the end and I feel it was a well deserved pip for the following reasons.

ADAM & MACCA NEVER EVER BACK AWAY FROM A TACKLE AND SHOW DETERMINATION AND BRAVERY DESPITE THEIR OPPONENT'S SIZE.

SPENCER IS NOW RETAINING POSSESSION AND HIS RUNS ARE STRAIGHTENING.

SAM ABSOLUTELY CREAMED ONE OF THEIR PLAYERS WHO WAS IN FOR A CERTAIN TRY - ANOTHER DEMONSTRATION OF THE SIZE VERSUS DETERMINATION THEORY.

LEWIS AND JAKE CONTINUE TO SCORE SOME EXCELLENT INDIVIDUAL TRIES.

HARVEY AND KIAN WHOSE TIRELESS RUNNING WILL RESULT IN A TRY BEFORE THE SUMMER!

MARCUS FOR MARSHALLING THE FIELD WELL FROM HIS CENTRAL POSITION AND ENSURING WE HAVE AN EVEN SPREAD.

LJ HAS BECOME A TACKLING AND ATTACKING REVELATION OVER THE PAST TWO GAMES. PLEASE SEE MRS UREN FOR BREAKFAST DETAILS.
